Description

A very faint globular cluster, not due to its size(actually quite considerable) but the distance that it orbits our Milky Way.  It's actually very bright in absolute terms and is suspected to be a galaxy remnant, similarly to the Omega Centauri.  NGC 2419 is currently almost twice as far from us as are the Magellanic Clouds and more than 10x further than the M13.

NGC 2419 is truly a legendary object in its uniqueness.
